I think many of you will find that you are having this problem after using WinPwn. I am not 100% sure but to me it seems that there is a problem with WinPwn and the way it was coded.

Not for the weak/cheap of heart, but I was getting strange and inconsistent battery life so bought a replacement battery for like $20, cracked the phone open and popped it in. Granted it was a little more complex than I just made it sound and you do need some very basic soldering skills (which mine are in fact very basic). There is also a video walkthrough for the whole process on the bleedingedge (bleeding? burning? something I don't remember). I'd provide the link but I'm at work and can't access anything but .gov, .mil, .org, and .edu sites.

Anyways, since I changed my battery I'm back to about 24-60 hours of battery life (depending on usage of course)

Re-virginizing and sending it back to apple is also an option for most of you. I don't have that option however since my phone was hardware unlocked from the start.

I'd also like to add that the most recent unlock conducted on my phone was via ziphone, I have unlocked multiple phones for other people via pwnage tool for mac and none of them are having battery life issues either.

I don't know if this will help anybody but I was experiencing this problem right after I WinPWN'd. I had a ziphoned phone and wanted to "prep" my phone to be able to winpwn 2.0 (later I found out I could have anyways) so I restored and jailbroke.

I solved it by restoring but not using a back up file. I set it up like a new phone and had to resync/install everything. My battery life is back to normal.

Just an observation... I am seeing inconsistent battery life. Recently I went to two 3 day festivals. During the first my phone's battery was fine, during the second it hit 20% remaining after 1 day. The only difference was that I launched Safari once for about 20s, checked something and closed it.

My question is, are peoples' behaviour consistent before and after pwning? Even week to week. To me it seems like things that Apple have implemented still have some sort of background presence which could drain the battery.

Completely turning the phone off and on again and just leaving it to only receive calls seemed to sort out the quick drain of the battery.

I had terrible trouble with my battery after using ziphone (learnt my lesson about using that lol) Any way after reading up on here i restored it using the apple update thing back to 1.14 and used that iliberty program, since then, the battery has increased from coming off charge at 5:30 am to about 6:30pm of normal use to lasting a good strong two days! just tried that hard reset method mentioned on here so hopefully will now get even longer. :-)
