It's due to something Apple forgot at iphones that are on a regular AT&T contract only! Maybe closed by Apple soon...

I got no idea, what this behavior with the ringtones is from You might wanna pm ask ChronicProductions, he is running the above mentioned site and obviously having your setup.

If it does work and the exp for this beta is June 4th then I wonder when your phone expires since it isnt pawned if you can downgrade to 1.1.4 again till the real thing is released.

One downside is that expiration may be, and probably is, still intact. We got lucky by not needing a Dev Certificate (kind of ruined my fun when i got accepted into the 99$ dev program 2 days later) but if it expires you will have to go through the annoying hassle of downgrading. Just a heads up. My prediction is they will release their Epsilon release on June 4, possibly a bit earlier to be safe, then June 10 debut the final Gold release of 2.0.

This definately works... I just upgraded from a pwned firmware 2.0 beta 3 to 4... Of course it had to go through the AT&T activation process which went flawlessly. That's only if you are switching devices or sims if previously unlocked. Everything works great including adding new contacts from the Maps app which did not work before. The only issue I have found so far is with the iTunes store... the sound is muted when sampling songs. This is a much steadier beta as the release nears...

I have the same problem with the ringtones. Let me know if you come across a solution. I'll do the same.

Quick update, the slow down seems to have effected all of my music in the iPod app!!! Anyone else seeing this?

I had the same problem with my music as well. I did a reboot and it fixed the problem. The music and ringtones are playing correctly now. However, the equalizer settings seem to distort the music. Each had a different adverse effect on the music. I turned it off and there was no problem.

Can someone please post the exact step by step instruction on how to restore this new firmware? I am a legit ATT user and everytime I try to restore to this firmware, the iphone goes into Recovery Mode and I get an Error 5 on iTunes and it stays in Recovery Mode. I tried with Xcode but I am not really sure how to do that either...because in Organizer, I don't have anything like "devices" Everything is just blank.

BTW, I have the installed the latest iPhone SDK.
