Olethros you are simply awesome, thank you very much for all the information. I have checked I am with new bootrom as explained by you in the post. In the system profiler, usb properties it also says DFU and my screen is black with nothing on it.
I have tried rebooting it with home and power button but nothing there as well. I didnt knew about SHSH when I tried JB so I know I dont have these as well
Am I correct that without these I cannot even take the phone out of recovery if I upgrade it to 3.1.3 ?

You can upgrade or restore to 3.1.3 but you lose unlock and jailbreak. Eventually tools will be relesed for jailbreak/unlock past 3.1.2 but likely not before 3.2 or 4.0 is released

The problem is that jailbreak is required to apply the unlock.

The jailbreak part is getting tougher to find low level holes. So it is not a good ideato throw away a new jailbreak hole every time apple releases a tiny OS update.

Thank you for all the help, the phone is useless to me as it never comes out of DFU mode, I am upgrading it to 3.1.3, which i also know is useless right now but atleast that blue apple logo with USB is better than black dfu screen
