Any suggestions here? I'd like to figure out how to figure out my boot rom, but it does not show up in the string when in DFU mode.

This only works for 3GS models I believe.
You have to really be in DFU mode, if there is anything displayed on the screen you are NOT in dfu mode.

Yup, I have a 3GS (or at least it was supposed to be when I ordered it)
and yes, I am in DFU mode. I posted all of the other stuff in the string in a previous post
The Model number is MC137LL (32GB 3GS I'm told)

I just tested this again with my 3GS to confirm, you are definitely in recovery mode not DFU mode.
In recovery mode, I get:
CPID:8920 CPRV:14 CPFM:03 SCEP:03 BDID:00 ECID:00000XXXXXXXXXXX IBFL:01 SRNM:[XXXXXXXXXXX] IMEI:[XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX]
In DFU mode i get : CPID:8920 CPRV:14 CPFM:03 SCEP:01 BDID:00 ECID:00000XXXXXXXXXXX SRTG:[iBoot-359.3]

Grrrr. you were right I had really thought that I was in DFU mode.
Once in DFU mode, the iboot shows up. (it's 359.3 by the way)
thank you!

I'm on the newest baseband
is there anyway to go back to the older version?
Or is it possible to unlock the phone during jailbreak, and have it find coverage and networks etc?

Not on 3GS. Some 3G owners get lucky with fuzzyband.

Not really. Makes no difference anyway. Did you answer correctly to the Can this phone activate through iTunes question?

IPHONE 3G[S] Stuck in DFU
Hello Guys
I am in a panic situation, its been two days I am searching for solution. Actually I was enjoying my Jail Broken phone with blackrain but decided to install PwnageTool to get notifications and youtube to work.
I followed all the steps, once the custom firmware was installed the Phone is just a brick, it shows black screen with nothing.
ITunes gives me to option to update it to 3.1.4 , but i dont want to do it as it is not jail broken. I tried Saurik solution but to no avail.
I am on OSX, itunes 9.3 and iBoot-359.3.2
Any help is appreciated

You have the new bootrom, according to dev team pwnagetool supports this but you need redsn0w 0.9.2 or blackra1n RC3 to kickstart the boot process each time (due to tethered jailbreak)

Thank you very much for your reply, I have tried both but they do not recognize any thing plugged in. When I check system profiler I can see IPhone plugged in and in DFU mode .
Any ideas what I can do to take it out from DFU mode ?
Thanks again for replying, appreciate your help
Regards
