The picture is going to change dramatically.
Nullriver gave Installer control to Ripdev (the Russian Unsanity guy, Slava),
which is a very good programmer but not so much "open source" friendly,
and I am sure Kate and his language projects will be the first ones out,
to try and sell them as much as he can before Apple includes the languages missing in it's firmware (like Greek keyboards).
Many apps that used to be in Installer are already in AppStore, and I think that in a few months Jailbreaking and Installer will be obsolete, except for very specific programs like SSH and Summerboard.

> wrong! t-znones works.
Excellent!
Thank You! its good to be wrong
let me play devils advocate, please make me wrong three more times
1. with 3G iPhone I cant get voice turn by turn GPS navigation (yet)
2. with FW 2.0 I cant search my calendar (yet)
3. with 3G iPhone unlocked at some point in the future, I cant get 3G on Tmobile USA (ever)
or, if I go with ATT, I get visual voicemail, 3G where available, $40 per month higher bill structure compared to Tmobile, lower battery life compared to 2G iPhone, a search that is crippled, and a hobbled GPS.
I like being wrong

Wow that sucks, looks like we will be having to pay for installer.app soon. =(
