[PwnageTool 2.0] Lost Wireless Service
I used Pwnage 2.0 and 2.01 several times. Every time the jailbreak was successful, but my wireless service disappeared. There was no carrier name at the top left and no calls could be made. Restoring the iPhone restored wireless service.
Is there a solution to this? Did I somehow miss a step in setting up the jailbreak?
Thanks to anyone with insite into this.
*I now realize that this issue is currently being discussed in other threads. Sorry for this.

Are you on an official contract? is it a 3G iPhone?
If your on 2G and you click on "NO" your not a legit user then it will unlock your phone and activate it. If you click "yes" it will not unlock or activate it.
If your on 3G if you click "No" your not a legit user then it will activate the phone but there will be NO wireless signal.
So on 3G click on "yes" your a legit user.
Obviously you will have to create a new custom firmware.
Read my FAQ!
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

Thanks for the quick reply.

If you clicked on "yes" and there is still no signal then and you activated using iTunes then that sounds like a buggy firmware.
I suggest you make another firmware and restore again and that should fix it.
Rememeber to use the 1,2_2.0 firmware for iPhone 3G if you did it manually.
Jailbreaking does not effect your signal on 3G so its an activation issue.
It may also be worth setting the phone up as new and NOT restoring from a back up!

I made several firmwares all day. I set the thing up as "new" every time.
I don't know what 1,2_2.0 firmware for iPhone 3G is. All I did was use the Pwnage Tool, and whatever was in it was used.

If you used automatic mode and clicked on iPhone 3G then it would have found it automatically so don't worry about that.
It seems your version is buggy or your mac is doing something strange.
Try downloading the firmware from a torrent in my "windows 3G" section of the pwnage FAQ as that should sort it out.
If all else fails restore it to Apple firmware and re-download pwnage.
It sounds like your just being very unlucky here.
But don't worry your phone will have signal again if you restore to original firmware or get a custom firmware that works as it is simply an activation issue!

I spent all day with this Sunday, and did everything you suggest.
I think the answer is untick "Activate".
Update:
I did it again. Unticked "Activate". Perfect Jailbreak.
