    Default [PwnageTool][2.0.3.1] Baseband crash?

Has anyone seen this? The EDGE indicator disappears, then the carrier indicator, then I'm informed that my SIM is locked (as if I rebooted my phone); I enter the SIM code, there's no service, and after 15-30 seconds, both T-Mobile and EDGE reappear.

This happens only occasionally -- every few days or so. FWIW, I've noticed that it tends to happen when signal strength is low (one bar or so).

This never happened to be before firmware 2.0.x, and makes me think that the baseband is crashing (otherwise, why would I be asked to enter the SIM code again?).

    Has anyone else seen this?

Since this happens only occasionally, is it possible that my SIM is going bad? That's what someone else suggested.

Hey! I have SAME issues! Never happened with v1.x! 2.0.2 seems to ease it a little, but it is definitely still present problem!

I somehow suspect this is carrier related as I didn't have problems when being abroad!

I called T-Mobile, and they say that it's extremely rare for the SIM card to go bad. The baseband software was changed for firmware version 2, even for 1st-gen phones, wasn't it?

I posted about this on the Apple forums, and no one has replied, so could this be a PwnageTool issue?

This happened to me last week, and to be honest, I was scared!!!

I was using the internet, and suddenly, everything dropped, no signal, Wi-Fi
could not detect networks, and no sound... I was just awaiting the
Repair needed message, but actually, I rebooted the iPhone and everything
    came back to normal.

This looks like an innofensive baseband crash, if you restart and everything
is OK, there is not need to hurry. If this happens again, I would recommend
to build a new custom IPSW and restore, just to make sure everything is OK.

Thanks. So this could be a bug in the baseband firmware, and is not caused by PwnageTool's patching?

I had my SIM card replaced yesterday, and this replacement unexpectedly fixed the problem where upon every restart, my iPhone would put up the red dot voicemail indicator, so I'm hopeful that this could impact the baseband restarts as well.
