No, it doesnt for 3G. And 2.2 unlocked means that you should install 2.2 original firmware then unlock it by using Quickpwn that uses bootneuter in 3.9BL. By the way new firmware is ready and can be downloaded at my page.

If you are using version 2.2 unlocked with bootneuter, you just need to downgrade to 1.1.4 then use ziphone to change imei with 3.9BL then install my custom firmware from "homeofmagic.blogspot.com" by shift+restore then everything works perfect with 2.2FW and spoofed imei.

Did you follow my tutorial directly? the basics are;

- You should install original 2.2.1 FW and then use Quickpwn to unlock it that should be in 3.9BL. You should use latest itunes version.

- Turn back to 1.1.4 FW and then use to ziphone to change your stuff (remember to stay in 3.9BL). You should use at least 7.6.2 itunes version.

- Lastly you can use my custom firmware and install it by basicly press shift+restore. You sure that for this step, you should use latest itunes version.


So you know that new 2.2.1 custom firmware are ready to install from my site.

Hi magic,I have been using a 2g 16gb iphone on a non iphone AT&T phone plan to save money!!. I have wireless everywhere i go in USA so i do not need expensive EDGE data plan. However, AT&T got smart and now recognize my imei as iphone and says i have to pay for expensive $$$$ iphone plan. My phone is jailbroken and unlocked with 2.2.1 as of now since i bought from ebay. Do you think i can use your method to change my iphone imei to my old phone imei, then update to your custom 2.2 FW --- and then Disable data with FakeAPN? I dont want to break my iphone or disable wirless! I just want to keep my cheap cellphone plan You're advice would be much appreciated! Thanks, David

my friend ran the stupid update on itunes n it changed it to 2.2.1

since then ive had no signal ! .....i understand youve already put instructions on the forum but plz could you go through the steps in more detail as ive never done tihs before...

i have tried using an older itunes to restore firmware to 1.1.4 but i constantly get errors ranging from 6 , 1601, 1600 and 20 ! ...

im a complete newb..plz help, n also could you send me links to the files please....

Ok, So I have a iphone 2g with 2.2.1 jail broken & unlocked.
I am trying to spoof my IMEI.

I downloaded the "Custom" 2.2.1 FW from your website.

I downloaded itunes 7.5 for another computer along with ZiPhone.

When I plug in my 2.2.1 FW Iphone into itunes 7.5 it says "Iphone cannot be used because it requires Itunes version 7.7 or later."

Should I proceed to download 7.7 and use that to downgrade from 2.2.1 to 1.1.3?

Are these the correct steps?
1. Itunes 7.7
2. Restore Iphone FW to 1.1.3
3. ZiPhone unlock, Change IMEI
4. Itunes 8.X
5. Restore Iphone FW to 2.2.1 CUSTOM
6. DONE?

it was because of ziphone GUI being stupid. I will help write a better more detailed tutorial when I have time
