Thanks Magic for FW2.1, however i was not successful in getting my iphone to work. Not with fake imei but rather with no service. Which i thought if i could change my imei i could get service, but that was not necessary the case. I even change the modem firmware to 04.04.5 G and i still get no service.
Details of my no service as i had thought was cause from imei, because my iphone com board was replaced when i had it dock to a ipod dock station. Once it was docked the iphone go into a rainbow of colours and then i knew that it was done. Board was fry and i had it replace, after it was fixed it was working with no problems @ v1.14. updated to 2.0 working for some peroid of time and then one day no service. For the first time i began to check the setting and relized the imei was fake and and serial is different. Understable since my board was replaced and the imei is not corresponding with what it was on the back of the phone.
This was a exprience, but i think the sim card and with my service provider (Rogers) is the issue. It would seem to be the case with so many others as well. For now i guess i'll just wait and see, perphas there is a solution for this later on. Thanks anyway

It looks like a imei problem which is blocked by roger I think. You aren't contracted with roger, right? If you have chance to change your imei with working one, I assume it will be work. You need to find working imei and then use my method. (install 2.2FW and unlock it, then turn back to 1.1.4 to change imei and then install my custom 2.2Firmware. So, It should be ok)

Hey, just got iphone 3G and want to update/jailbreak to 2.2, on a site it advised to only do so without the baseband update. If i would like to unlock in the future. But also from what I understand no windows pwn tool will allow you to customize the firmware file. So, I was hoping I could get a custom 2.2 without the baseband update.


And the guide at the beginning is just for the 2G iPhone correct.?

I finally stumbled upon the software after endless searching. I upgraded the phone to 2.1 and then tried to downgrade it to 1.1.4 but I keep getting error 20 when trying to downgrade. Anyone else get this error?

Well, I fought with this thing for hours on end and was finally able to restore to 1.1.4. I'm going to try again after a while with the 2.2 software but I need to take a break. The instructions are a bit tainted (first it was itunes 8.0 then its itunes 8.0.2). Nonetheless, upon my success, I'll rewrite the instructions and make it idiot-proof.
