Hi all,

I like to confirm that Custom 2.2Firmware (which was created with pwnage2.2.1) is perfectly running on my iphone2G with fake imei. So all mails regarding to 2.1Custom FW would be upgrade their iphone to 2.2. I created a new 2.2firmware with Cydia and Installer in it, so you can able to restore your phones to this firmware. If you still in 1.1.4FW, you can again follow my tutorial and just you should use 2.2FW instead of 2.1FW. Anyone who already use 2.1FW with fake imei can safely restore your phone with 2.2 Custom Firmware.

Baseband is the same so you do not need any bootneuter operation to unlock. If you have chance to create your own 2.2FW, you shouldnt be select bootneuter and thats all. You can safely restore it.

By the way, due to the itunes, you should restore your iphone. You will have error when you try to upgrade. You can switch your iphone to recovery or DFU mode.

So, I will share my custom 2.2FW within my blog and to whom written in this threat and also mailed to me will have a new link to have 2.2 Custom FW.

For new people, I will also send them 2.1FW links to have practise to get ready to 2.2FW.

I did cut a few steps out though but it still works. * i created the custom FW with pwng2.1 (unticked nueter stuff),* DFU 'd iphone,* restored with itunes 8.01
and done no errors along the way.

I failed to change IMEI yesterday. I have no clue what went wrong. Syntoms were that after the 1.1.4 downgrade itunes was issuing an error(like you said), but afterwards my phone was in "restore mode". None of the tools i am aware off could get it out(ibrickr,ziphone) and only option left was to reinstall the 2.2 Firmware.
Only thing i managed myself afterwards was to get it from restore to DFU mode, and then back again. But i could not start is and ziphone could not change the IMEI. It detected it, but went on for ages without changing anything.

Hi,

You should use correct itunes versions, otherwise not possible to install correct firmware or use third-party tools such as ziphone. Be sure that while you are on 1.1.4, itunes version should be 7.x and while you are on 2.x, itunes version should be 8.0.2. Thats what you need to careful.

I Have 1.1.4 iphone 2g with spoof imei working fine, if i upgrade to 2.2FW will it go back to the original imei, or if i use the custom 2.2FW from HOM blog will this leave the spoof imei in place?
