Default [PwnageTool 2.0.1] Restoring a data backup rom iTunes after FW 2.0 upgrade

Hi. Ok so I have used pwnage 2.01 to upgrade and it worked like a charm. I already had a pwned 114 iphone and the upgrade method was so easy its like it was the official apple upgrade method.

Only thing I am now wondering is I took a backup using iTunes before I did the restore etc. I have restored that backup to get all settings, SMS's back etc. Is this a stupid idea and should I just start from fresh because of things which may be left over from the old pwned phone (apps etc).

So far all seems fine and everything is working but I know that before i tried doing it this way and had major issues!

The main thing I need back is my SMS db. Is it possible to just export and reimport that? As I would rather start from fresh anyway!

    Cheers ppl

Resolved. I just took the SMS.db file off the iphone, restored again so it was fresh and copied it back on again. Worked like a charm. Thought I would update the thread incase anyone else as interested in knowing

I would still be interested to know peoples thoughts on restoring a data backup when using a pwned iphone though. Any known issues doing this etc like there used to be?

You could use Erica Sadun's mdhelper (http://ericasadun.com/ftp/Macintosh/mdhelper), download it to your Mac's Desktop, then start Terminal and type (once)
    cd Desktop/
    chmod 755 mdhelper
    Then type
    ./mdhelper -C .db

and it will pull all db files from the backup into a new folder on the desktop. If you type
    ./mdhelper -C *.*
it will pull all pics from camera roll, all dbs, plists etc kind of a complete backup.
    Works with 1.1.4 and 2.0.
