    Default quickpawn

I have never tried quickpawn. I have had errors 1600 1601 and 2001 on different machine. I am trying to restore to current custom firmware. It was working beautifully and then just turned off and will not come back on.

    Current as in OS 3.1.2?

You need to use iTunes 8.2 or higher to load OS 3.x on your iPhone.

Regardless of firmware. You also need to prepare iTunes to restore the custom firmware. Pwnagetool does this during the generation of a custom ipsw. You need to answer no to the question Has this iPhone been pwned before?

I know your iPhone was pwned before but with all the attempts you have made you should do this step again.

I was referring to quickpwn earlier because I saw a reference to OS 2.x. Quickpwn does not work with OS 3.x

You can try blackra1n to initially pwn the iPhone and then option click restore in iTunes to load the custom ipsw.

    Default phone is not recognized

Black rain does not see the phone, quickpwn does not either. It never shows anything on the screen. I would think its dead if itunes didnt rind it in recovery mode. I cannot get it to do anything. It nevers attempts to load any firmware.....just quick 1600 error and thats it. I recreated the custom firmware in pwnage tool and answered no to has it been pwned
before .....still nothing. I really do think its dead this time.

    Default Tried everything!

Did everything just as outlined. Still 1600. I am not sure of the last version of the firmware. I don't think it was landscape texting so I assume 2.xxx

If the phone is recognized in DFU mode...Is there still hope even though it is not recognized.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
