Same thing happend to me.
First you need to hold the Power button and Home button at the same time. After counting to 10 slowly, let go of the Power button and keep the home button pressed down until you see Itunes find your ipod. I will state that the Ipod is recovery mode. Recover and this should work.
You might get a warning that say ipod can not recover, which happend to me while on my mac. I spent all night trying to make it work and nothing. I switched to a pc this morning and got the same warning. Tried again and was able to recover.
I believe this happend because I tried to pwnage my ipod with iphone firmware. See if this was your problem and try pwnage again with the correct firmware.
Let me know how it goes. Remember keep trying. I wasn't able to recover after a lot and lots of tries.
