Default [Pwnage 2.0][Windows][3.9 BL] 2.0 Pwned and fully operational

    Dear all,

the process described below is an edited version of what darveesh provided in another thread, and is exactly what I did :hack: !

I started with a 3.9 BL Ziphoned 1.1.4 phone fully operational.

    1. Backed up camera roll photos, notes, and any contacts. We will do a clean restore.
    2. Set auto-lock to NEVER.
    3. Installed BootNeuter through Installer.app. Settings: 3.9, Neuter ON, Fake blank OFF, unlock ON. Press FLASH!
    4. [Download Link Removed, do not post links to custom ipsw here, thanks]
    5. Upgrade to iTunes 7.7
    6. in iTunes, simply did shift-restore and selected the custom firmware.
    7. iTunes did its thing. Once the phone boots back up Boot Neuter ran automatically and flashed the new baseband. Wait for this to complete (and the phone to reboot) before you do the next step.
    8. iTunes prompts for new phone setup / restore from backup. Chose new phone set up and proceed.
    9. DONE!
    10. Calls / SMS / Wifi work fine.

Please proceed at your own risk. I take no responsibility if something goes wrong with your phone, and I am not an expert to be able to provide support for things-gone-wrong, sorry. I just described what worked for me.

    All the best!

after some more looking around, I have a problem with EDGE. I cannot find where to put the APN details (internet.vodafone.gr). Therefore none of of my youtube, email, weather, stocks, etc apps work on EDGE. I keep getting the error:

Could not activate cellular data network: You are not subscribed to a cellular data service

although I am (vodafone internet) but I need to somehow tell it so!

    Any tips?

The Settings - General - Network -> path does not include a menu for the EDGE setup...

it works fine, but I REALLY miss the INSTALLER feature... CYDIA is way slow... and since 2.0 is new, there aren't many apps available... It reminds me of the old days of iphone when it first came to the surface...

is it not in "cellular data network"?

Settings -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network

I put my orange details in there and edge seems to be working perfectly

    no it is not...

My Settings - General - Network -> path does not include a "cellular data network"menu for the EDGE setup... only Data Roaming, VPN, and Wi-Fi.

Reset your Network Settings, if it doesn't do the trick you have to edit the network preferences plist or wait until someone post it on Cydia or Installer.

I did the reset, it did not help.

this is definitely needed as a patch from Cydia.

    Fuzzy,

same network here. Easy way to fix this is to download iPhone Configuration Web Utility 1.0 (Google it for the apple download link). You can then prepare a configuration where the proper APN for Vodafone GR is set.

You can find a sample file here, which is what I am using:
    hxxp://rapidshare.com/files/131358401/Vodafone_GR_Configuration.mobileconfig

Point to it through iPhone's Safari and it will be automatically installed as a profile (Settings -> General -> Profile)

To my knowledge, this is caused by Vf GR being now an official iPhone provider, hence having a profile built into iPhone (it also has a custom image now, instead of the scrolling logo on top).

That did it for me, now enjoying the magnificent speed of Vf GR's GPRS

    Best regards,
    Anestis

reactivate your ability to edit EDGE/Cellular Data Network settings:

    http://news.metaparadigma.de/?p=29 use _T_H_E__Z_E_N__W_A_Y_

it always works like a charm.
