Default [Pwnage 2.0] Sluggish iPhone (2G) after upgrade to 2.0?

In addition to the battery thread.. has anyone else noticed their iphone is now more sluggish with 2.0?

Not sure if this is related to the tool or not - so will try the thread here first.

I firstly tried restoring my backup and then also tried a new restore without using my old iPhone restore data - but performance is the same.

Scrolling through my contacts/menus - sees the screen judder
Writing texts/emails - seems very laggy

    Anyone else?

I'm having the same issue. Scrolling and transition effects are jerky. Most everything else seems fine.

It's probably the 2.0 software, non-jailbroken iPhones seem to have the same issue.

I've noticed a little improvement by not disabling the "paranoid partition wipe" in my custom IPSW, but I don't know if it will keep working fine forever.

Actually it is Cydia's fault. I had the same problem, then I uninstalled Cydia and it flys now. Cydia clearly has issues at many levels, as seen by the many reboots and lockups it goes through just updating itself.

Before you ask, I used the "Manage" option in Cydia and uninstalled the first Cydia package I found. You will need to select "force uninstall" then Cydia will uninstall and then freeze. Reset the phone and you are home free. Enjoy your new fast 2G phone!

If non-jailbroken iPhones are having the same problem, I don't think it's Cydia's fault. But I uninstalled Cydia anyway, and did a hard reboot (hold power+home until screen goes off).

I'll know roughly tomorrow if this worked or not. I'm guessing that the slowness is related to battery issues. I had the slowness before messing with Exchange & VPN, but after installing some Appstore stuff.

I'll let you know if removing Cydia helped.

I decided to restore my phone again but when asked in iTunes if I wanted to restore my old settings - I chose not to.

I lost my texts - but thats fine. Phone runs so much better now and battery life has improved 10 fold.

I know this sounds too simple for words, but all I had to do to resume normal UI speeds was to reboot the iPhone, and everything is back to normal even with Cydia. Perhaps I got lucky but worth sharing.

I don't know if Cydia has any impact or not, I disabled the Cydia package manager during the ipsw building process.

I seem to have gotten rid of my lag and hang issues by creating a new IPSW that does *not* include Cydia.
