Hi guys how do you get the ipsw file for 2.0 iphone. All lilnks don't work i was reading there is something you can do from itunes can someone explain this to me .

this might sound strange, but does your mac os x account have a password? sudowon't work if you don't. i'm not sure if this will help, but try setting a password if you don't already have one.

If you upgrade your 2G iPhone to FW 2.0, you will lose Installer and the $5.99 Tzones Hack.

Even if you unlock with Pwnage 2.0, you wont get $5.99 edge internet anymore, it will cost you an extra $15 per month.

So my advice is wait for the Tzones Hack to be ported to the AppStore, before upgrading a US unlocked iPhone to FW 2.0

as to 3G iPhones in US, pawnage wont unlock 3G iPhone (yet).

Until an unlock comes out for 3G iPhone, we are stuck with ATT if we want 3G iPhone to work for making voice calls.

I had an iPhone 2g with 1.1.4fw and 3.9bl.
It as never been pwned before. I followed the instructions on the PwnageTool 2.0, and clicked No when it asked me if I had already pwned my iPhone before. I entered the DFU mode successfully and restore with the costume firmware.
Now When I turn the iPhone on, it appears with a pineapple logo but it asks me to activate the iPhone and I can't pass this. I already done it again.
Did I miss any step?

it should work. try using the advanced mode, and make sure that the activation is checked in one of the options, then recreate the .ipsw, pwn it again (it won't hurt), and restore it holding alt key.

Yes, my account has a password. At one point, while building the main .ipsw, I am prompted for my account password (and I entered it). Later, I get to the DFU failed screen.

Can I run PwnageTool as 'root'? (does 'root' have a GUI login on Mac OS - I've never tried?)
