pwnage 2.0 doesn't detect DFU mode
Hope someone on here can offer some advice.
I have a 1.1.4 phone, unlocked using iPlus.
I put my phone into DFU mode, iTunes says I have to restore it which I just ignore then close iTunes.
Open pwnage and let it generate the custom IPSW file.
Tell it my phone isn't pwned
I then get the FAIL screen, saying failed to enter DFU mode..
I keep coming up against this problem and can't get past it....Anyone got any tips?
Thanks

Look for ./Library/iTunes/Device Support under your home folder .
If it doesnt exist create it, you might also delete all files in it before starting Pwnage Tool.

So I had this, but then did a DFU restore of iPhone 2.0 software (official apple version) and then pwnage 2.0 worked as advertized (as a first time pwnage user, can I say this app is freaking genius)

When you get the error, you are most likely not in DFU mode.
Lots think they are because iTunes says you are and the screen shows an iTunes logo with the USB cable. That's not DFU mode.
So how to enter DFU mode:
When the iphone is on => press both the power and home button. After 7 seconds (screen is black then) release the power button and keep the home button in till iTunes detects your iphone.
Important => Your iphone must be connected to iTunes before you follow the above steps. Connecting your iphone will kick it in restore mode.
In DFU mode, the screen is totaly black and the iphone apears to be off.
Hope this helps....

Dont start in dfu mode, follow the timed prompts in Pwnage to get into dfu mode.

Then how come that i could not get past the steps behind the creation of the IPSW file?
Always got an error that DFU mode could not be detected. So i started in DFU mode and all worked. only thing is that when asked to shut it off you first have to kick it out of DFU and then let it restart and power down again.
Was the only way to get it working over here.

Weird, mine created the ipsw without my phone needing to be in DFU (dont see why it would, its not interacting with the phone at this point is it?) But it wouldnt see my phone in DFU mode in the last step if I had started in DFU mode, I had to follow the Pwnage steps exactly. I think the iClarified guide will back me up on that though.

mine took about 1 1/2 hrs to get it right, but once it did everything was cool, just be patient if you can the steps mentioned above are what worked for me, good luck
