I have a 2g iPhone that I pwned using 2.0.3.1 and running the 2.0.2 Firmware. Occasionally when I am trying to use the web browser via Edge (T-Mobile US using wap.voicestream.com) the address bar fills blue almost immediately and the web page does not load, just a white screen. I installed the T-Mobile Carrier Bundle in Cydia and I noticed that after I did that the Cellular Data Network section under Settings->General->Network was missing. I uninstalled the T-Mobile Carrier Bundle and the Cellular Data Network section returned but I still have the web browser issue. There really is no way to resolve the issue other than shutting the phone all the way off and then powering it back on. Has anyone else seen this issue and if so, can you offer a possible reason/solution?

To add to what I wrote above, I can change the APN between wap.voicestream.com and internet2.voicestream.com and I can usually get the browser to work again without shutting all the way down. I am wondering if this is a firmware issue with 2.0.1 and 2.0.2. I do not seem to remember this happening with 2.0

Try the new tzones hack update from Boss. Tzones recently started to use 25.x.x.x address space in addtion to 10.x.x.x.
The new tzones hack address that.

I don't think so.
the total internet plan is different.

wap.voicestream.com is for tzones.
internet2.voicestream.com is for the other.

Try turning off wifi.

Yeah, I already have wifi disabled. This issue happens no matter if I have wap.voicestream.com or internet2.voicestream.com entered.

It is possible that something is problematic with the edge network... Mine is not working at the moment but it was working earlier.
My edge ip is 25.233.x.x .
I looked at the proxy.pac and preferences.plist and they all look ok. I say wait a bit and see.

update: working now... but slow ... very slow

T-mobile has been messing with their EDGE network I think. For the past week or so I've been getting the same, and the only fix is to wait or force a reconnect with a different IP. I have the total internet as well, called customer service and they said they were having issues. Probably tied to upcoming 3G network rollouts I'm guessing.

I hope this is just a T-Mobile issue and not an issue with my iPhone. I am going to try and pwn back to 2.0. I do not remember having this issue with 2.0.
