    Default [pwnage 2.0.2][jailbrake 3G] unsuccessful

    Hi, I just got the iphone 3G today. Updated the pwnage 2.0.1 previously downloaded on my mac through the "check for updates" portion. I used expert mode but unchecked the activate box (already have activated AT&T sim card). Left everything how it was but after the very last step, when it should have been jailbroken, it went back to the "NO SIM card installed" screen with usb and itunes logo.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    okay, so I have tried again, but I got "No service" icon. I used the expert mode, but I have an already activated AT&T sim card but i dont have the iphone internet package on it. Do i still uncheck the activate box then?

    The only thing checked PERIOD is the "install cydia" and maybe "installer". Thats it! Follow the directions on Iclarified and it should work.

    You need the SIM card in the 3G so that iTunes activates it!

    You can't use the activate in pwnage because it doesn't give a 3G signal and you have to have the SIM card for itunes to activate it normally.

    So that is why! Pwnage does not require the SIM card to work but if you want to officially activate then it does of course need it!
    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    Thanks for the update.

    I had a previously activated 3G AT&T sim card in my phone during the entire process of pwnaging and restoring. After the restoring process was done in itunes, it went to the screen with the "usb cable and itunes logo." I disconnected my phone and hooked it back up into the comp, and itunes discovered my phone! I uploaded all my songs, etc and it worked! Kind of strange but as long as it works.
