Default [pwnage 2.0.2][jailbrake 3G] Restore backup from 2G iphone

    Hi,

I currently have a pwnd and unlocked 2G iphone (2.0.1) and I plan on buying a new 3G iphone in Ireland for use there. I have a lot of texts and stuff that i want to keep and I dont want to start afresh on this new iphone. Is it possible to restore the backup from my 2G iphone to this new 3G phone? I want to Pwn this phone as well. Also, does anyone have any experience pwning the 3G iphone on Ireland's O2 network?

    thank you

I've done it and didn't have any issues. You should be fine. Just make sure you use a 3G firmware.

I guess pse dog was talking about pwnage of a 3G iPhone, thats no problem, I did it on my iPhone. I would refrain from restoring from a backup. Besides valuable data you may get back settings from the old 2G iPhone you dont want on the new one.
What you could do is SFTP into the old iPhone, dave the data (mostly in /private/var/mobile/Library inside the containing folders) and after you pwnaged and jailbroke your new iPhone copy them back.

    just my 2 cent

    Hi Volkpost,

When u mean SFTP is that the same as transferring files via SSH? Will I able to transfer all of my SMS's from my old iphone to my new iphone?

    Thanks for the reply!

Exactly, you can use PuTTY on Windows or Cyberduck/Fugu on a Mac. It uses SSH (called SFTP)
