[Pwnage 2.0.2][2.0 to 2.0.1 FW] DFU Problem (Again!)
Hello Fellas.. !
I´m back ask some question from the "experts" here.
I have a activated/unlocked/jailbreak Iphone 2G with Pwnage 2.0.1 and FW 2.0.
And my problem of the Sleep/Power button remais (dont work all the time...is damaged).
My questions...
Do i have to put my phone on DFU Mode to do this upgrade ?
(It´s a difficult task to me do that...believe me..my button is damaged)
Or can i create a IPSW with Pwnage 2.0.2 and do a simple UPDATE (in Itunes)
with this custom IPSW 2.0.1 FW ? (This is not the real benefit from Pwnage ? One time done is already ready to update futures FW releases ???)
Because everytime that a new release comes...i will be in trouble everytime...
Please Pwnage guys...Does Exist a "soft method" to put my phone on DFU ???
(All tried all the Ziphone/Liberty/etc tools and NO ONE works to put my phone on DFU mode...) I´m telling that because some people (noobs in that case) dont know to do that...Can be simplify it, forcing the iphone to go DFU ?
Please guys...help me here !

I just got into restore mode to do the step (after creating the custom firmware with PwnageTool 2.0.2). shut down the iPhone and disconnect from your Mac. Start iTunes, then hold and keep holding the Home button (still working, right?) while reconneting to the Mac. itunes will see an iphone in recovery mode.
You got it pwnaged once so right now simple restore/recovery mode will do.

I believe it.
I just experiment with my previously pwned 2.0 iphone (used pwnage tool 2.0.1)
In my case, I want to go to 2.01 firmware and I want to try winpwn 2.0.0.4. DFU mode gave me 1601 error. Restore mode worked perfectly.

On the above correct (General Settings - in Expert mode)
On Bootneuter setting i always had "Neuter Bootloader", "Unlock Baseband" and "Auto delete BootNeuter.app" checked.
Once the restore to the custom firmware is done and the iPhone reboots, BootNeuter starts up and (if this were the settings you had while pwnage 2.0) just does a reboot of the iPhone again. No flashing happens.
I play around so much with the iPhone want to make sure settings are correct.
BTW: Those settings are for iPhones without a regular iPhone-contract

Well I always use "Restore" in iTunes. After the iPhone is pwnaged once you dont need DFU, simple recovery/restore mode will do. Then shift-restore (Windows) or ctrl-restore (Mac).
Works if you want to go from fw 2.0 to 2.0.1 or if you want to use another newly built custom fw 2.0.1 while your iPhone is already at 2.0.1.
