[Pwnage 2.0.1] After Restore with Custom-IPSW: stuck on Boot-Screen
I really need help with an iPhone a friend brought to me after he accidently upgraded from 1.1.4 to 2.0.
What I did:
Got his iPhone, which was obviously jailbroken/activated on 1.1.4 before he accidently upgraded to 2.0.
Built a custom IPSW using Pwnage 2.0.1.
Kicked iPhone into DFU-Mode.
Restored the iPhone using the custom IPSW.
Everything went fine until restart. Now the iPhone's stuck at the pineapple boot-screen and doesn't boot up.
Strange thing is: itunes recognizes the iPhone and asks to restore it from backup.
Any idea? Please help!

Does your phone turn off automatically or does it just stay at the boot screen?

Try putting it into restore mode and restoring using your custom .ipsw (and maybe build a new one just to be sure it's fine).

It stays at the boot screen.

Even after you restore? That's odd.
Try restoring to a stock Apple ipsw and see if it boots.

Try this: turn it off (keeping both home and power buttons for 7 seconds or so).
Then connect it to the cable keeping the home button pressed until the connect to itunes icon appears. Itunes should recognize it and you can do a shift restore.
Good luck

Problem is solved
After kicking it into DFU-Mode once more, i restored it using a fresh built custom-IPSW.
And suddenly everything worked like charm.
Don't know, what went wrong the first time... ghost in the machine in some strange way.

I think ive had the same problems "EVERY' time I use anything that isnt from first gen iphone era software (iliberty,Ibrikr)
these new jailbreakerz just dont have the same ...reliabilty .like the old ones did.
like i KNEW i could always rely on ibrikr and iliberty and idem for a clean break.
Yarp.
