Default [Pwnage 1.0][Solved] I dont want to hurt my iPhone - Erase Baseband w/Ziphone??

    Hi,

I a well aware of the risk of using Ziphone with an iPhone. I wouldn't like to have my iPhone permanently bricked, or so are the dangers of using Ziphone.

I have used Pwnage Tool version 1.1 very pleasantly, and I look forward to the latest version. I feel it is better with my iPhone than iLiberty+

The issue now is that my iPhone's firmware is 1.1.4 (4A102), my bootloader 3.9, and my modem's firmware is 04.05.04_G

Researching your database I found a thread that suggests using Ziphone, to erase the baseband 04.05.04_G

In another thread it is suggested that after erasing or downgrading the baseband, one only needs to retore the iPhone through iTunes.

I have refreained from using anything that may have to do with Ziphone. However, I need something to delete or downgrade the baseband. If you think is ok using Ziphone's ierase by Kiremk please tell me, or if you know of another alternative please let me know.

I am using an ibook G4, iTunes 7.5, and unfortunately my iPhone marks no phone and no internet signal. My iPhones model no. is A1203,

Thank you very much in advance,

    igmolinav.

P.S. It really helps when you guys help us. I don't work in any field related to computer science. I have spent nearly thirty hours this past week trying to work out many things of this iPhone, (not 3G), that was a gift of my uncle about a month ago.
3G iphone owners, (like my uncle now), get all the help they want from the phone company. As a linguist, I hope I am able to have this phone working properly, so I can install the dictionaries that I'll need to use sometime soon. Thank you again !!!
i have a one click solution for you but its for windows. What you need is to make sure your in 1.1.4 and run this Patched Version of ZiPhone in Windows. When you start this Patched Version there will be 3 choices: Downgrade Baseband, Debug Boot, iErase. Select all 3 and hit start, and when its done your baseband will be downgraded. This does work as i have used it myself before.

And once again this is for Windows. So if you can use bootcamp or borrow a friends pc this will work.

    Hi,

I just ran the patched version of Ziphone on Windows (on my friend's computer), as you suggested, because I have an ibook G4. The iphone came out fine from this process, even with the logo or sticker of the "iphone forums".

One of the main goals was accomplished, the modem's firmware or baseband was erased I assume, (it doesn't appear in the screen anymore). However, "the challenge" if you will is that it states "No WiFi" and it also flashed a couple of times that the iPhone "can not make or receive calls". That is perhaps because I don't have the right modem firmware, right?? but what to do if one can not call or use the installer ??

    Thank you once again,

    igmolinav

Go into DFU mode and restore to 1.1.3. From there restore to 1.1.4, and again once more to 1.1.4. You should get errors after the 1st and/or 2nd restore, but after the 3rd your phone should boot up onto the activation screen without any errors after the restore from iTunes. From here use iLiberty to Jailbreak and Unlock the 1.1.4 iPhone.

    Hi,

Thank you for your help : ) !!!

The telephone has recovered it's signal !!!

Internet and installer can not be used because
the iPhone "is unable to join the network"

    I'll try to work on that : ) !!!

    Thanks again,

    igmolinav.

P.S. Is there another way, besides the installer,
to install some of the programs of the installer
with bluetooth or through USB port ??

    Hi,

Thank you. I restored as if the iPhone was new because previous to using the pwnage tool, (before following your instructions), I prefered to save all my info in an external HD.

    I don't know if that wasn't good.

    Thank you again,

    igmolinav

im kinda confused so after you restore the fw and the phone booted up, did you select set up new phone, or restore from backup?

    Hi,

    Sorry, please forgive my writing.

Out of the two options, I selected up new Phone, and not restore from backup.

Thank you for your support once again : ) !!!
