pro's for upgrading baseband?
hi all,
I'm with o2 in the Uk and won't be unlocking my phone for use with any carrier.
Are there any pro's in upgrading the baseband?

in the us I personally get better reception and the battery last longer for me. Dont know if the baseband had anything to do with it.

If only the decision was so clear cut...
You might want to sit down for this one, because here comes a bombshell. Every baseband revision improves the baseband. Personally, I usually see increased speed and better reception. I may have also got better battery life, but I didn't notice because it was never an issue for me in the first place.
If you're not interested in unlocking like me, then you should definitely upgrade. If you do want to unlock, then upgrading has a good chance of causing problems down the road when the software unlock finally does come out. The dev team cautions against the update because no one really knows if the critical hole that hasn't been found yet is patched up in the newest revision of the software.

There is no major improvement between 1.45.00 and 2.28.* or whatever.
2.11.07 is one baseband which did improve things.
As you can see in my Sig, I did infact opt to upgrade the baseband to 2.11.07.
But 2.2's 2.28.x baseband doesnt improve anything at all.
