Default Problem with restoring the old data to the updated iPhone

    Hi.

I have a first generation iPhone. It's settigns have been backed up by iTunes and i use PwngeTool to unlock and jailbreak it.

After i update and pwn my iPhone i use iTunes to load the backup to my iPhone but it fails in a silly way. Everytime after the restoring process iTunes sees my iPhone like a non-restored iPhone that it wants to restore my iPhone with the backup again again in every connection.

I pwned my iPhone a lot and everytime the result was the same.

What seems to be the problem? Is this a bug in the PwnageTool? What can i do to solve it? I'm sick and tired of making the same settings everytime after pwning.

Alot of people face this problem, its normal..... You are upgrading from 1.1.x to 2.0.x right

This is because of the file architecture has been changed
I suggest that if u dont have manual back ups ur revert back to 1.1.x and take back ups on address book and calender and save images, then upgrade and set up phone as a new phone

i guess you'll have to go back to 1.1.4 and load from backup
then select, in itunes, "sync contact with......." also select "sync calendar, if u wanna save that, and sync mail, if u need that too

then restore to 2.0.x and set up phone as a new phone and select to sync contacts , calendar, mail, music etc

You said revert to 1.1.4 and load that backup of mine. But the backup of mine isn't form 1.1.4. It's from 2.0. I made a fresh backup when i fisrt upgraded to 2.0 so the file architecture's shouldn't be different.

Anyway shouldn't iTunes give an error message if the backup file architecture's are different.

There must be something else. Or am i missing something?

I recommend to everyone to always set-up your iPhone as new.

After the first restore from backup, you can just click "set up as new phone" and nothing happens. You'll be updated with all of your settings in tact.
