I was able to use pwnage tool to create the ipsw fine and used itunes 8.2 to shift click restore the firmware
all went fine

the problem happens when i SSH
once i SSH and say i upload a ringtone, or anyfile whatsoever then problems begin

the problem displays itself as the apple logo appears with a progress bar beneeath it which does this for several minutes then reboot and locks up t lockscreen

if i dont SSH all is fine no problems

reason why i want to SSH is to restore my notes, adressbook and upload my ringtones.

i've tried various levels,
if i ssh and only upload 1 ringtone file, or any file it seems to cause this odd problem.

anyone else having problems after the SSH into the iphone?

this may not be the answer you were looking for. i was curious why you can't restore your address book and ringtones using sync? i use SSH when i want to work with files (like XML, strings...etc) that i can get to using itunes sync.

the other question is, were you able to use SSH with other files beside ringtones? if so, use itunes sync to upload your ringtones.
