I have recently purchased a new iPhone from Tesco and upgraded to 3.1.3 - before I new about this site. All I wish to do - for now - is unlock the phone, but it seems such a complex process.
For someone who is very green to all this, what is the easiest method
In the UK, most (maybe all) of the carriers offer authorised unlocks. These are processed by Apple and are permanent (any restores or upgrades will not lock the phone again). I would investigate this option if I were you. It is your ONLY option between now and late June / early July when the next non-official unlock will be made public (after the next generation iPhone and OS 4.0 is released)
