A few questions....

Ok I finally jail broke & unlocked my 2g iPhone however I noticed my camera apps no longer work. I have tried the stock one & my 2 dl apps snapature & gorilla cam. Any insight on that ?

Next how do I Bluetooth sync my iPhone ? Is that what tethering means ?

Yes I know try search function but I'm on slow dial up so it's painfull to do that. Any &. All help is welcomed & greatly appreciated

Slow dialup is no excuse for not searching. This is not a bandwidh heavy site.

You don't mention any specific details. IPhone OS you are running. Jailbreak method etc

I assume you used pwnagetool to jailbreak as you posted in this subforum

Or whether you set up phone as new or restored from iTunes backup.

Bluetooth sync?? Bluetooth support is still limited on 2G phones by default. This can be patched out. Yes the Bluetooth is patched as part of dborca's tethering patch

I used Pawnge 3.1.5 to Jail Break & Unlock
I used the downloaded Pawnge file... iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw
Everything is working ok except the camera. The first time I tried to use it, it the phone froze & gave me the pineapple icon when I hooked back up to my MAC it seemed to unfreeze & everything was fine. So as it is now the only thing not working is the camera.

Again you have no idea how much I appreciate your help. If your ever in Bali beers on me :)

My camera & iphone were working fine for one day now when I launch any of my camera apps the iphone immediately restarts. I get the pineapple Icon then 2 vibrations then back to my home screen.

2nd Issue is I'm burning thru my pay as I go minutes. Is my iphone somehow staying connected to the phone company I'm using ? How can I tell ?

3rd Issue is my Iphone goes into sleep mode after 1 minute (I've tried changing to 2 min 3 min etc). When I hit the home button it won't wake up. I have to hold both the power & home button for about 30 sec. then I get the pineapple logo that hangs there for about 2 minutes before going to my home screen. Any ideas as to why ?

Last is battery life. I'm getting maybe 6 hours & that's not running any apps that's just having the iPhone sit idle or sending a few SMS messages. Almost no talking and no games running or anything. Seems way too short too me.

Updating to my last post. I used Pawnege 3.1.5 to make a new file ( iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Custom_Restore.ipsw ) After the phone restarted all looks fine. I haven't added any 3rd party apps nothing. When I launch the camera app. it shows the grey camera screen then after 1.5 seconds it goes black & the iPhone restarts.

Since the modem firmware is 04.05.04 is there a way to downgrade the software from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 ? Would that maybe solve my camera problems ? What else should I try ?

You can try 3.1.2 but I really think you have a hardware problem. There has been similar problems reported previously and the solution has been to replace the camera hardware module.

The only thing that I can think of which might help is to check the permissions on /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE

Install mobileterminal from Cydia open it, check your prompt ends with "mobile$" and then type:

The date/time will of course be different, also the number before "mobile" but the rest should be the same.

Thanks for the info. I put the phone back onto the original 3.1.3 software & still have same problem. So I assume the camera issue has nothing to do with the JailBreak & Unlock ?
