I have my ECID and my SHSH...
but i don't know what to do with it. where do I input the shsh and ecid? I know that after i get in cydia, I can submit it somewhere... but what's the next step? is it the make my life easier? does that still work?
I am 3.0.1 OTB 3GS - looking for unlock. I got my ECID and SHSH at 3.1.2.
Can I just follow this guide?

those files are on the Cydia server. You will need to Terminal in /ect/hosts/ to change.. Try these 2 links, they helped me

with that you will be able to restore thru itunes to a 3.0 or 3.1 > whichever you have on file. otherwise, iTunes gives an ineligible error.

You should look at the 3.1.2 shsh as a "last resort" backup. Many people do not have this and risk loosing their jailbreak (and consequently jailbreak)
Because it is a "last resort" backup, you should avoid using it until you really need it.
If you have a bootable 3.0.1 3GS you can jailbreak with redsn0w and unlock with ultrans0w. Guides are on iclarified.
Try very hard to avoid letting your baseband be updated to the 3.1.2 version. That limits your unlock to blackn0w only and that unlock has serious problem where maybe 20% of blacksn0w users lose their wifi after unlock.
i just figure that when I opened cydia for the first time the other day, I doubt apple was still giving out the 3.1.2 shsh...
so I only have a hard copy...
so the cydia make it easy app, probably won't work for me.

i'm really hesitant to download any generic push fix as i doubt they are unique and that could comprimise security
so I have my 3.1.2 SHSH as a hard file, and 3.1.3 SHSH on cydia.
Is that adequate for now?
