    Default Pre-Installed programs with Bigboss's 2.0 Custom IPSW-Why??

For all us windows users that took advantage of Bigboss's torrent-based custom IPSW 2.0, did anyone else notice that Cydia has a bunch of already installed files listed under 'Manage'? The list is very long and I'm wondering why are they there? Are they all required to be installed to keep the iPhone pwned? I am thinking uninstalling all of them.

Can anyone explain to me whats going on with Cydia? I actually want to uninstall it all together and wait for the Next Gen Installer!! Not a Cydia Fan

    Thanks a bunch!

I used pwnage for mac and I have the same situation. Never used Cydia before... dont see a problem with it, but it does seem to have an awful lot of programs already installed. I think they are developers tools or something but not really sure... scared to uninstall them in fear that something might need them.. anyone have any answers?

Well if you don't wish to download anything with Cydia go ahead and uninstall them, it's the equivalent of the BSD Subsystem and is what is used when a package installs. The only difference from Installer is that each binary in the BSD subsystem is separately listed rather than being grouped together as one package. It's all aprt of the default cydia package.

Keep in mind: if you are waiting for "Installer" to be released, it's possible that the only way to get it into your phone will be via Cydia.

(I have no idea, but that seems like an obvious distribution method - other than re-running a new Pwnage with "Installer" installation built-in)

So, you may want to keep Cydia around for a little while.

    THIS X1000!

When the new installer is release it will most likely be hosted on Bigboss' repo. Since Cydia was ported to 2.0 much faster than the new installer it is currently our only way to installing programs. I say you should keep Cydia around if you want to eventually have Installer without re-Pawning your phones. :hack:
