Default New iPhone with Baseband 2.28.00 -- QuickPwn or Pwnage Tool

    Hey ...

I just got an iPhone and want to Jailbreak. The phone, bought at an Apple store last week, came with FW 2.2 and baseband 2.28.00.

I've read here and elsewhere that dev-team suggests not to Jailbreak with QuickPwn to preserve the potential for a future unlock.

I assume this warning is geared for those with baseband 2.11 and earlier and does not apply to me. Is this the case? Is there any reason ... future unlock or whatever ... as someone under contract to AT&T and stuck with baseband 2.28.00, to not to use QuickPwn?

I have a Mac at work and a PC and Linux box at home. If there's an advantage to using the Mac and Pwnage tool, I can do that. But I'd rather not have to rely on a machine at work.

    Thanks.

    -r

-r, you're fine with using either one of the tools. You just will not be able to unlock with the upcoming solution from the dev-team...

Would you be so kind to post the first 5 digits of your iPhone's serial number?
Reason: iPhones with baseband 2.28.00 wont be unlockable, some users here try to figure out when buying a 3G which firmware it might have. This always used to be related to the iPhones production week that is in those first 5 digits
