Default Manually upgrading firmware - itunes blocked

I have an jailbroken (pwned) and unlocked (ultrasnow) iPhone running 3.1 and now want to upgrade to 3.1.2 by "shift clicking" restore in itunes 9.1.1 and then selecting the ipsw that I downloaded from a reliable source.
Initially things look good until i get an error that says " The iPhone "xx" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

I figure that this is due to Apple blocking it while it tries to connect to their server.

Anyone else having this problem? How do I go about it?

Do a search for "SHSH". This issue has been explained and talked about for about 8 months now. As there are hundreds of threads explaining and detailing, please reply to one of those.

Next time, please search first. All you had to do was click "Search" and type in "The device isn't eligible for the requested build." and you would have seen something like 200 forum topics about this specific issue, each of them with a resolution for you.
