Mac - iLiberty+ jailbreak black screen with man
Hi,
Im not sure what I did but I followed the following topic so I could upgrade from 1.1.4 to 2.0

http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...=43569&page=11
After I done that which was ok, I went to itunes and updated (not sure if I should have done this) and ..
and has black screen with a man with speach bubble (NPEBEA!)
Using itunes 7.7. Clicked the iLiberty+ and exited recovery and the phone is back but can't update to 2.0 ..
What would I be doing wrong..

You have totally confused me.
You do not need iLiberty if you want to use pwnage.
iLiberty has NOTHING to do with 2.0!
It has nothing to do with it.
what it appears you have done is put your phone into recovery mode after it has already been pwned - I am not sure if that is accidental or because you ran iLiberty after pwning your phone.
Just make a custom 2.0 firmware in pwnagetool then click on alt+ restore and select the 2.0 firmware you made and it will restore without any problems.
iPhone US 8GB
FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
iPhone UK 16GB
FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!
<----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)

...and the man that scared you is Steve Jobs by the way.. The speech bubble is Russian for "I'm coming after your unlocked iphone"!
Just kidding, yeah, your phone was pwned, and you have no business playing with iLiberty anymore if you're heading to 2.0 -- do what Spinstorm said...

I have tried restoring to the custom firmware but continue to get 1604 errors.

Exactly what was done......
Bought cheap phone today for my sons 13th birthday and decided to try to unlock iphone 2g to use the sim from the new phone. We are on att family plan.
Use Pwnagetool 2.02 and initially was able to get cidia on phone but would not read the new sim and find service. I did select option that said no iphone contract through itunes so it would unlock. I was in simple mode. I felt I was not in dfu mode so I put the phone in dfu mode and retried the custom ipsw. I now just have a pineapple logo along with the Steve Jobs logo that says npebea!.
I have googled every possible error and solution i could think of. Nothing seems to work. The main errors trying to restore are 1600 and 1604. When I try to put in dfu mode, I cannot shut the phone off with apple slider. It is not there. I do feel it does shut off and then I hold sleep and home for 10 seconds and then home for 5. Itunes then pops up but the errors continue to come up. I have deleted the device support files in library/itunes/device support and have tried another mac to solve the problem to no avail.
5 hours now .......any help is appreciated. Thanks Mike
