Lost wifi after upgrade to 2.1 (NOT 'Gray')
Really headache problem.. my phone (iPhone 2G) got a wifi problem after I've upgraded to 2.1 with PwnageTool, the wifi signal almost dead, I choose the word 'almost dead' because sometime I can connect to wifi but it will be logon for only few seconds... mostly it cannot find any wifi network (even put the phone next to router)
This is the difference problem with the 'No wifi' with 'Gray' color shown on setting..
Any suggestion?

sorry to be a me-too person, but I also have the same problem. I've tryed many things, did the iphone complete restore and repwned, upgraded to 2.1 (I had this problem in 2.0 also) nothing seems to work. The wifi just almost never shows networks and certainly cant connect to them.

Install Bootneuter to custom firmware from Pwnagetool 2.1, don't check the unlock and autodelete options then let iTunes finished restore iPhone using custom firmware. Set autolock to never and launch BootNeuter. Set to following settings,
bootloader version = default
neuter = on
fakeblank = off
unlock = on
Follow it's instruction and see if it can help. Please reply if it's working. Thanks..

I've done so much shit to my iphone, I guess I'ts worth a shot, is winpwn out for 2.1?
edit: apparently theres still no winpwn for 2.1, can someone with a mac upload a custom restore with the following:
bootneuter:yes
unlock: no
autodelete: no
activate:yes
custom logos:no
am i forgetting anything? This isn't doable with quickpwn right?
edit2: apparently I'm not allowed to post requests for custom firmwares?
Is there any way to accomplish the above without a mac? Post or PM whichever.

DISREGARD PREVIOUS POST, FOR SOME REASON I CANT EDIT NOR DELETE IT. I JUST USED 2.0.2 INSTEAD OF 2.1 AS THE DIFFERENCES ARENT A BIG DEAL.
I'm pretty sure I have the same problem as OP, so I did what you said. My results:
By autodelete I assume you mean the option that asks if you want to wipe the iphone before pwning. I did what you said but when I chose not to unlock it didn't install bootneuter, so I cant set any of those settings.
However, as soon as I restored wifi worked for a bit intermittently, improved from not at all before. Should I try to get bootneuter on post pwnage and set the settings you mentioned earlier?
