Did you guys try a DFU restore to 2.1 Apple firmware. Then use Quickpwn. On a Mac just let it do the job. On Windows when at the options screen just choose Cydia, make sure Add Installer, Replace Boot logos and Unlock iPhone is NOT checked.
    Let Quickpwn do the job.
Once done when iTunes fires up and shows the option "to restore data from a backup" DONT choose this one, instead choose "setup as a new iPhone".

Dont install any apps for now, leave Cydia untouched. Connect to your access point. Best choice if possible enter IP manually, dont use DHCP. On the iPhone at DNS try 208.67.222.222. This is OpenDNS.

The actions in the last paragraph are just to make sure it is not a router issue.

    Tell us how this works.

I had a brief dropout of wifi last night. but this morning it seems to jump onto wifi instantly.

One thing i've noticed is it seems to have errors connecting to wifi i.e. after inserting the password for the access point, it will say "cannot connect" if you click ok and go back to the home screen, it will connect anyway...strange..
have tried 3 wifi access points so far and all have worked.

Its definately to do with some sort of curruption either with the method used for unlocking.

I also decided to update my bootloader to 4.6 and that has given me a much better signal for my O2 connection.

i've been using the wifi now for about a day or so.. seems to be holding on. i've noticed a few times it tends to drop off and not find any wifi at all, but all of a sudden it connects.
