    Default Jailbreak AFTER upgrading to 2.1?

    I upgraded my phone to 2.1 through itunes. I originally had jailbroken and unlocked it to 2.0, and then upgraded to 2.0.2 and now 2.1.

    Is there any way that I can jailbreak my 2.1 phone without having to do a full restore of the phone? I just want to be able to access my phone with diskaid in order to modify my settings to get tzones to work again. It gets mail just fine, but all other apps are not working. I need to get the files on there, but don't want to go through redoing the whole phone.

    Thanks

    Yes you can. Use the new Quickpwn tool, it does exactly what you are looking for

    FW 3.1.2, Jailbroken, Neutered, Unlocked (on AT&T)
    Mac OSX 10.6.3, iTunes 9.1.1

    What I don't understand is if it will jailbreak my phone without modifying it at all, why do I need to load the custom firmware, and essentially complete the same process as I did with pwnage tool. They seem no different to me, other than one does not unlock.

    What QuickPWN does is to jailbreak your phone without you having to build a custom ipsw and restoring it. It does need the original ipsw to do the jailbreak though (not sure why... i'm not technical enough to know... i think it uses some files from ipsw to patch your phone)

    Ok, so if I use quickpwn, it will not change my phone as it currently is, other than to simply jailbreak it, and add installer and cydia if I so choose?

    Default getting up to 2.1

    a] 2.1 can be jailbreaked only after upgrading to official 2.1, with quickpwn;
    b] create a custom 2.1, with pwnagetool or xpwn/ipsw;
    all platform are covered,
    in either ways you gain rw access and can add cydia.
    itunes will be upgraded to 8.
