Unhappy [iPwner] not supported on this .ipsw version

So I ran it with a clean 1.1.4, everything's peachy. Installed OpenSSH and BSD.

    Shut down phone.

Hold menu button and plug into USB to get it into recovery mode.

    Fire up Pwnage.

Browse .IPSW and load 5a225c it shows...
    Code:
    2008-04-05 14:21:37 - Loaded .ipsw file from '/Users/ddd/Desktop/iPhone1,1_2.0_5A225c_Restore.ipsw.zip'.
    2008-04-05 14:21:40 - Recognized .ipsw file as version iPhone1,1_1.2.0_5A225c.
    So far so good.

i hit iPwner and it goes...

    Code:
    ------------------------------
    2008-04-05 14:21:41 - Unzipping .ipsw file to /tmp/ipsw.
    2008-04-05 14:21:44 - OK
    2008-04-05 14:21:44 - Patching iBoot.
    2008-04-05 14:21:44 - OK
2008-04-05 14:21:44 - iPwner is not supported on this .ipsw version.
    ------------------------------
2008-04-05 14:21:44 - Failed to start "pwning" on your iPhone/iPod.
    .
Can't get this to go no matter what I do. Tried switching base to 46 no joy either.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

Having the .zip extension to an apple firmware is normal, isn't it?

I think I remember reading somewhere that the ipwner step has to be done on/with the 1.1.4 firmware. You can then browse/build/upgrade to 2.0 (if you KNOW all the issues you'll be running into).

Maybe it was here.. or maybe I dreamed about it (didn't try 2.0 myself and I don't want to).. but I guess it is worth trying

Sorry - wrong on all fronts.

    Not from usenet.

    Two different sources in fact.

    removed ZIP still no go

    Any other ideas?

Oh - and removing .zip extension shouldn't be necessary as it wasn't for 1.1.4.

    thx

Well, I'm always willing to fess up when I'm the a$$. So.. I am.

I was clicking iPwner not IPSW builder. I reread the instructions (got too cocky to get it done the first time).

Sorry to waste the bandwidth - hopefully this will spare the next bozo
