I have a UK iphone (16gb I don't see 3g written on the back, but it's the black one) which I'm trying to unlock to be compatible with my US at&t. The problem is it's currently in restore mode, after I deleted all the info on it. I downloaded Pwnage tool, but every time I try to download a firmware bundle it says incorrect firmware bundle, then when I downloaded blackra1n, it DID reboot it, and caused itunes to offer me the option of restoring it, but then at some point in the hour itunes keeps saying I'm having network problems, or an error occured. I'm a girl, and feeling very much like the bottom rung of a wow forum, so please be patient with me!

It's hard to know from your description whether this is a 3G or 3GS

3g? It would say 3gs on the back if it was correct?

Mine is a black 3GS and it just says iPhone on the back. No mention of 3G or 3GS at all.

It does list a model number underneath in small print.. That would clarify the question.

Yes, so it's a 3Gs, 16 GB. Was able to "restore" in itunes, however it then said my sim card (at&t) was unsupported, so I ran black ra1n again, only to be sent back to the itunes restore function. Do I need to restore firmware through pwnage instead? When it sends me to the internet to "search" for the bundle, it seems like everyone I pick from the list is incompatible.

What model number, iOS version, baseband does TinyUmbrella report that the iPhone is running currently?

Blackra1n only works on 3.1.2 and 3.1 (for the iPhone) as well as 3.1.1 for the iPod Touch.

You cannot unlock it if you have upgraded to 4.1

Ultrasn0w does not (yet) support the baseband that ships with iOS 4.1

Jailbreak is possible with pwnagetool 4.1.2, greenpois0n or limera1n
