if the iphone screen is black, you are in DFU mode. If the screen has picture of usb cable+cd then you are not in DFU.

- Turn off the phone
- turn off itunes
- plug phone into cable
- hold the home button for a long time
- let see if itunes will detect the phone
- if it does, restore with factory apple fw 2.0
- If successful, now put phone in DFU mode and restore with pwned custom 2.0 fw.

Hi Dtube,
Can you verify for me by chance.... I currently have a 1.1.4 2G phone now that I used pwnage to get to from 1.1.1 a few weeks ago....
Now I would like to go to 2.0 with the new 2.0.1 pwnage tool,
I read here somewhere that I do not need to go to DFU mode only "restore mode" once I am ready to load the 2.0 custom firmware I make. Can you tell me if this is correct so I do no end up in the situation these folks ended up in?
Also, Do I restore to 2.0 first in Itunes, or just restore only with custom firmware from the getgo?
Thanks for any clarification.
