    Exclamation

'This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again.' !!!!!!!!

This is what I am getting on iTunes 7.7 and 8, both.. right now when i'm willing to do a simple restore. I registered my :iphone:2G(jailbroken and unlocked earlier) online with a AT&t sim through iTunes couple o days back after updating the firmware to 2.1(iPhone1,1_2.1_5F136_Restore) using iTunes8. But as I am willing to use a different carrier outside of the US,which is over Bangladesh.. I know i made a bad move that time by doing that. So anyway.. I downloaded QuickPWN2.1 and restored it to a fresh 2.1f/w again and pwned my :iphone: the way it was required, which kinda happened smooth.. but just didn't get the carriers unlocked(I tried both At&t and my carrier sim inserted). I've already tried that pwn process using QuickPwn2.1 in different ways after gathering information from here and there and obviously hackint0sh.org! But they all were and still are getting me bad lucks =(. Anyway, then I planned to uninstall iTunes completely from my windows box(i got no linux box or Mac atm',so dont offer any helps which might require them) which runs a winXP-SP2. so I cleared all existence of iTunes from windows registries and everywhere, as I was suspecting that my OS was keeping that AT&t activation code hidden somewhere in some iTunes related file. then I reinstalled iTunes7.7 and then 8 but both of them are giving me that msg. i've shown on the beginning of this post.I even tried reinstalling iTunes, but I just still can get the :iphone: to DFU mode now but iTunes is not detecting the :iphone:. So i can't restore my :iphone: back to a fresh 2.1f/w and try the Pwnage2.1 tool with a fresh iTunes+2.1 right now.

I'd be so glad if anyone could give me some suggestions or solutions... solutions would be very much appreciated though!hehe.. cheers~hackint0sh!:hack:

    Hi benny,

The problem is way complicated and ive tried many other ways such as adviced to the thread setter yet it cant be done. Ive tried all sort of ways and at one time iLiberty managed to detect and use the DFU mode yet it still cant come out to DFU function.

The ironic of it, the phone can be installed via restore via itunes. The phone seems unable to go into DFU mode and only restore mode. Ive even drained out the battery many times yet still the same issue. It keep on looping at restore. Any other ideas guys?

I managed to repair my iPhone with error 1600-5, 2005 etc.
It is a 16GB 2G 3.9 iPhone which was blinking at the startup screen. Therefore I couldnt get to the restore mode. I just could access the DFU mode.
Thats what I did to get it working again.
I depleted the battery for more than 2 weeks. When I was recharging it, it still was blinking when booting. I fully charged the battery and then BOOM - the restore screen with the iTunes logo and the USB cable appeared. I started restoring to a 2.1 pwnaged image and it was working again.
I can fully use it. HAPPY NOW
    Hope this helps
