    Default iPhone 3Gs Stuck at Activation

    Hi n1ckn4m3

    my iphone 3Gs is brand new never used it was never even turned on so i dont even no what firmware its on,

    i turned it off plunged it into itunes tried to do a restore got a Error Message 1611 ( Unknown error ) now i cant restore or boot it,, can anyone please help me out,, at the moment im stuck on the recovery screen, is there anything i can do to fix this..?

    No worries about that, I split out into another thread for you. I would download the Firmware Umbrella from The Firmware Umbrella, then run it with your iPhone connected to your computer, and click 'Kick device out of recovery mode'.

    This should force it to boot. Let us know how that goes and we'll go from there.
