I don't remember if it was 3.1.2 ootb...but I tried all this stuff and it didn't work. Called Apple..sending it to them. Taking a chance they may swap out even though they see the logo. They told me Error 9 is from a file that is corrupt that supposed to let it restore/reboot.

yep, no love. I guess once that file is corrupt..you're screwed and need a replacement.

I guess I lucked out...Apple actually replaced my phone for me! How, after seeing the Pineapple, I have no idea. Maybe they're giving people one chance or something? Maybe I had a generous tech look at it and just push it through? Who knows, but i'll probably not even bother jb'ing it this time...i dont want to go through that again. And I'm sure Apple has flagged my account for having a jb'd phone just in case I need service again.

It could also be that this file can get corrupted without a jailbreak, so Apple is just playing safe and nice. I still doubt that a file can get corrupted that a DFU restore of factory software cannot fix.

Post your restore log file: http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm

Error 9/29 might be able to be fixed.
