iPhone 3G - Pwned to 2.1 works GREAT !!!
Everything working perfectly. In everything I mean EVERYTHING. I am on a 2G network in HK and have a US iPhone working on Peoples network here. All perfect including GPRS using a Gevey SIM on 2.1.
Thanks Dev Team for Pwnage. Hopefully this is gonna fix my battery problems. VERY HAPPY

I am and STILL on 1.48.02. Correct me if I'm wrong but where in the process for a 3G iPhone do you have the option of updating the baseband when you build your custom .IPSW.
Am I missing something ???

You would restore using the ipsw from Apple and then pwn (quickpwn or pwnage). Restoring using the ipsw from Apple will upgrade the modem firmware (versions).
I have not been able to find much discussion on what the newer modem firmware versions fix for the iPhone 3G. I'm running 2.1 with the 1.45.00 modem firmware, and everything seems OK so far. I would like to know if the modem firmware updates have anything to do with potentially fixing the call-drop/signal issues.

So did you patch your mobileinstallation file or not?

No I didn't patch the file .. and I definately didn't upgrade my baseband. Im still unsure if my Gevey SIM will work with the new baseband and I really cannot see any advantage in the new baseband right now. Battery life has definately improved though with 2.1.

I'm running 2.1 on 1.45.00 aswell, but I have been getting a lot of problems using the 3G connection to surf the web / use Cydia or other apps that require a network connection. When it uses WLAN everything works like it used to, though. I'm going to restore my phone to 2.1 custom once more and NOT restore the backup in iTunes. If that doesn't solve my problem, I might try letting PwnageTool putting in the latest baseband update.

Its not even possible for PWNAGE tool to allow baseband updates in the 2.x firmwares.
