i ve got the same problem. did you find a solution ?
I have the similiar problem as you on my friend's iphone. Its 16G and apparently right after he restore to version 2.1 he's unable to unlocked & jailbreak due to DFU issue.
When DFU method is applied, at the 10 seconds counting, the phone will restart and back to restore mode. Ive tried many ways (except Zibri's for some reason) even dried up the battery still its not possible.
If you have found any solution, pls let me know ya..taaa
that's exactly what was happening to mine.
well, after spending 3-4 months trying to find solutions and help to fix it, i decided just to sell it for parts.... i really got tired of it, it was my brother's and he ended up getting a piece of crap phone until the t-mobile g1 (android) comes out...
sigh..anyway thanks for the reply crackertc...does anyone out there has any solutions? its not mine tho but still i need help my friend..or send it back for repair?
DFU Mode Issues
I have the same Problem here. I have Pwn many phones, but this darn 2G - 8GB just doesnt want to go into DFU mode so that i can jailbreak it.
I have looked everywhere for an answer and no one has one.
I am starting to think that its a hardware issue. Im going to try and swap the Main Frame and see if it works. If that doesnt work im going to try and swap the Board and see if that works.
Stay Tuned. If anyone else has a solution please let me know.
I don't know if this is going to help you DFU#ked ppl or not, but I have never used
pwngage/quickpwn way to into DFU mode.
I have learned this back in 1.0.2 version, and I keep using this method to this date.
Anyway, this is what I do.
With the phone TURNED ON and CONNECTED to the pc/mac and with iTunes
open (so you can tell when it goes into DFU Mode), I press both keys (pwr/home)
until it boots. Once the phone boots you count to 4 normally, one, two, three,
four, and let the power button go, but keep pressing home. It will go into DFU in
about 4 to 5 secs.
If the phone turns on while you pressing both keys, means you overlapped the 1,2,3,4
counting. Should be less time then. Let the keys go, and re do it.
I am having the Same DFU issue. Any upfates yet
I have tried everything at least 452 times. The hold sequences with home and sleep button and all the softwares to Force DFU. Nothing nottta works. Even tried downgrading itunes and firmwares and all the 3rd party jailbreaks.
Background: Iphone has endless start up when not plugged in and when plugged in only the emergincy calling screen comes on (t-mobile,which works) and nothing else,
here is my favourite how-to-DFU
1. Connect iPhone and Mac/Windows-PC
2. Shut down the iPhone via red slider or by holding Home and Start/Sleep until the screen goes black - let go of buttons
3. Shut down iTunes
4. On the iPhone press and keep holding Home and Start/Sleep. Count to 10, I always use (100,200,300,...)
5. Let go of Start/Sleep but keep holding Home and just wait.
It might take 10-20 seconds until iTunes starts up and finds an iPhone in recovery mode. If the iPhone's screen is still black - you're in DFU

---------- iPhone 4 factory unlocked, iOS 4.3.1, jailbroken
iPad Wi-Fi + 3G (1G), iOS 4.3.1, jailbroken
Running into the SAME problem.
iphone 2g, firmware 2.2.1 jailbroken & unlocked; osx 10.5.6; I've installed the iousbfamily315.4 and I can't get into DFU; all I get is the phone rebooting (pineapple) over and over. help?
Somebody else here with no DFU phone,
I have a 3g Iphone, a 2g Ipod Touch and this 2g Iphone and I can get the first 2 in DFU everytime, this iphone just will not do it damned thing!!!
Hardware wise I've replaced the screen but the home and power buttons do work otherwise (because wake on home works, and power button works also)
Rolled forward/backward to 2.0.2/2.2/2.2.1 in normal restore mode but no luck with DFU mode at all.
