The correct way is to pronounce it as though it was written p-own-edge. It originally came from owned which means to beat someone or something in someway, i.e when taking the piss out of someone, if you win you can say to them "you got owned". Then the o was replaced with a p as the p is right next to o on the keyboard and people started pressing it by accident. So it became pwned or pwn3d, and people started saying "you got pwned". So instead of the word ownage we now have pwnage.
