Default Do these bundles still work?

I have the same problem - want to install ultrasn0w but don't have wifi... I tried finding ultrasn0w in the cydia packages list but can't... does this bundle still exist? will it work? the hotfile link is down.

    Thanks!

There is creamsn0w. I'll release an update for 4.1 later today.

creamsn0w for iOS 4.1 has been released. It does not depend on Cydia and it's not recommended that you install Cydia.

I think it is good that you have stepped up and offered a solution.

However I have serious issues with the way you have offered this solution and also the claims you have made.

    1. That Apple staff can't detect that you are using ultrasn0w. This is clearly false, Apple staff can look up whether the phone is officially unlocked (committment free) or carrier locked very easily. It doesn't require a genius to put two and two together and see that you have somehow unoffically unlocked
    2. I take strong offense to the claim that Cydia's unix implementation is poor or unfinished. one of the original goals of Cydia was to replace the unfinished BSD subsystem that was installed via Installer.app. Saurik has focused on keeping the unix core stable and working
    3. Yes Cydia is slow and ugly, much of the slowness comes from slow repos (that are outside Cydia/saurik's control). Preinstall Cydia, plus JUST ultrasn0w/saurik repo - should be much faster.
    4. No Cydia means no updates to ultrasn0w or mobilesubstrate. MobileSubstrate especially has had conflicts with maps, Skype and other apps that do things a bit "special", by denying users updates to ultrasn0w and mobilesubstrate - you risk leaving them with a buggy unlock and no way to update when fixes do become available
    5. You haven't created Cydia, pwnagetool, ultrasn0w, mobilesubstrate so what gives you the right to criticise them? Also who do users go to for support when things go wrong? You? or the iPhone Dev team (who created all these tools)

Calm down! Creamsn0w is not new. It's over a year old, and those words are also a year old.

    1. The word 'detect' refers to detection method of that that time--looking at the phone to see if Cydia is on the Spring Board; they never bothered with a file system inspection or an IMEI lookup. If things have changed, I'm can fix it.
    2. I have never claimed that the UNIX subsystem is crap, just unnecessary for those that only need only the unlock.
    3. Cydia is not needed just for the unlock when you can have a custom firmware that works on first boot. I stand by my words that Cydia is slow, ugly, crashes often, and sometimes gives errors about the unix subsystem. I also stand by my words that 99% of the packages in Cydia are crap.
    4. Ultrasn0w is rarely updated after it becomes stable. When you need to update, it's generally for a new iOS version, and you need to restore anyway. Mobile Substrate is also relatively rarely updated, but not as rarely as ultrasn0w. I disliked when they made Mobile Substrate a dependency precisely for the reason you gave; however, I only load Mobile Substrate in CommCenter and nowhere else. So, there are no conflicts with Skype and other apps.
    5. No, I have not created all those things, and I don't criticise all of them, just Cydia. I have asked for permission from Saurik, and though he did not like me bashing Cydia, he did grant me permission to embed Mobile Substrate as I see fit. People ask me for help, not Dev Team.

Just created an updated bundle for ultrasn0w 1.2.3 I haven't tested it but it should work:
    https://rapidshare.com/files/4049879...2.3.bundle.zip

PS: I'm sorry I've been busy and haven't been on the forums in a while, but it looks like iphone3g210 has figured out how to update it....

By the way it goes in: ~/Library/Application Support/PwnageTool/CustomPackages/
