Sorry i'm either really slow or can't find information here about this....

I recently WinPwn-ed my (8G) 2G iPhone from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1...and i would like to know how to DISABLE EDGE completely?...tried a tool from Installer on 1.1.4,but it never disabled it completely...

Also,if someone knows,how can i load "cracked" apps on my new 2.0.1? ,and is there any tips to reduced battery usage,or tools that save energy?,and lastly,is there any speaker sound booster for this firmware?

Sorry for so many questions.

- don't use app from 1.1.4 on 2.0.x
- Use Cydia to install bossprefs. That will give you option to toggle edge. It stays disabled until you reboot.
- questions regarding apps / appstore should go into the appstore or toolchain section

- add source http://cydia.iclarified.com into your cydia. You will see volume boost.

how does one change the EDGE settings in fw2.0?

[edit] My carrier became an apple partner, had to edit the carrier.plist, problem solved!

change edge settings? you don't mean toggle on/off right ? If it's on/off then use bossprefs.

As far as settings such as apn, username, password - it's under settings, general, network, cellular data network.

Rogers is a total ripp off for Data, PAWN'd my 2G phone and forgot that edge defaults ON. Rogers charged me $87.00 for 1.5 MB (mega byte not GB ) of data that is not a type o !!!

Tomorrow my carrier (Claro Argentina) will become an Apple official partner. Minutes ago I received a notification regarding a carrier settings upgrade via itunes, just in case I backed up the modified plist and then accepted it.

Well, it didn't touched the plist with the AllowedgeEditing seting but again I can't edit them via settings>general>netwrk, any idea?

Comment: I just re quickpwned with the new GUI version for 2.0.2 I read somewhere in the forum that this new release breaks the carrierbundle, is this true?

Did you check the (new) carrier bundle you got online from Apple?
It`s in /System/Library/Carrier Bundles
name should be your carriers name. If you open it and in there the file carrier.plist I would bet the setting
AllowEDGEEditing set to true is missing in there.
Thats why you cant find it in preferences.

To get edge on 2.0+ you need to be using wifi and navigate safari to unlockit.co.nz from there you can enter your apn settings. Once that's done you can go to settings>general>profiles and you can see your edge settings. I use bossprefs to toggle wifi and edge.
