HELP: PwnageTool - iPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode.
I have just decided to jailbreak my iphone 3GS 3.1.2, that is currently on its last month of its contract. I used the PwnageTool and proceeded with all the steps. When the phone went into the recovery mode, i was unable to ever get it out of recovery mode. iTunes came up with error messages (1604). My phone is still in recovery mode.
Is there anyway of getting my iphone out of recovery mode on a MAC without updating the iphone software to 3.1.3?
And is it still possible to jailbreak the phone?

That is a very short contract... these are usually 1 or two year contracts. This phone was released less than a year ago. Are you sure it is a 3GS? Not a 3G?
Did you back up your SHSH for 3.1.2? You did not need to be jailbroken to do this...
A 3GS that was purchased (and not repaired or replaced under warranty) before September should be possible to jailbreak without a problem..
Look at PwnageTool 3.1.4 for Mac OS X for how to work out whether you have a new or old bootrom also you can use this to find your ECID

My contract is only 6 months. I am living in Denmark. And i bought my phone on the 9th of september 2009. As for my iPhone now. I restored it in Apple, however as a 3.1.3. And the phone is working perfectly. I am still not sure why my phone went into recovery mode, if you are telling me my phone should be able to be J.B. Is it possible to downgrade to a 3.1.2 and then try the jailbreak again?

You need to follow the steps in that post I linked to to find out if you have old or new bootrom. September suggests that it is an old bootrom.
Now that you have loaded 3.1.3 you cannot jailbreak until a new jailbreak is released that supports 3.1.3. This might not be until next July (if ever)
