Getting today my iPhone 3G
Hi everyone!
Finally, today, I'm getting my new iPhone 3G.
To be honest, I have not touched, activated an iPhone 3G,
The guy that will sell it to me today, says that it got 2.0,
he didn't tell me about baseband, but, what do you recommend
to do when I get home since I want to upgrade to 2.0.2 without
taking the risks the dev-team talk about.
Please, give a technical advice.

Just use pwnage...I believe it patches the BB.

You can use pwnage to create custom firmware. In the pwnage creation process, you can tell it NOT to update baseband. So the custom firmware you restore to phone basically give you a new OS and keeping old BB. (sort of like the 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 soft update back then).
I've never done this on a 3G but that's how I understand it .
