[FW 2.0. 1,1 phone] International Roaming
K - so this is something I definitely didn't expect. I have a 1,1 phone from a while back. It was a 1.0.2 OTB, unlocked back then with AnySIM, then a 1.1.4 with ziphone (yeah, yeah - I ran the risk, but it worked fine) and then pwn'ed the phone with 2.0.
Now why this history? Well, with 1.0.2 and 1.1.4, I've been roaming internationally with my Costa Rican ICE SIM (or my t-mobile from the states) happy as a clam ... until now. I didn't have a chance to test roaming with the pwn'ed 2.0, but I expected it to work fine. I'm right now in Guatemala, sitting with a screaming No Service tag or, if I put the phone into airplane mode and back again, it sticks at searching. No carrier menu, no nothing. I know the account is in good standing, and I've roamed here before on prior firmware revisions.
I'm willing to be a guinea pig for a bit (only here for two days), but would like to resolve the issue before I leave. Any ideas?
updated after the fact: the only thing that comes to mind right now is that Guatemala is on the list of official apple carriers with American Movil (PCS or Claro or whatever they want to call themselves this year). I really don't see how that can influence, but I'm not a cellular phone expert, I only play one on the internet.
musings after update: so, i'm guessing no one else has had issues with international roaming on 2.0? if everyone else, with other unofficial carriers hasn't had an issue, i'm going to guess that the problem lies with my carrier, and out of leaving my house quickly, i forgot to pack my trusty t-mobile SIM. anyone else has had a chance to roam with their 2.0 1,1 phone?

Reason: musings after the fact
yeah, ok, so after spending 2 aggrevating hours on the phone with the carrier it seems to be their fault (problems with authentications it seems) - not the phone, so I guess the mystery is solved. No fault of the 2.0 firmware.
